Privacy notice
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information EasyFind collects, why we need it, and what you can do about it. EasyFind is not live yet. We'll update this notice before the app launches.
Who we are
EasyFind is a hostel-booking service for KNUST students, based in Kumasi, Ghana. It is run by Evans Obour, trading as EasyFind, while our business registration is completed. Contact: hello@easyfindgh.com.
We will register with Ghana's Data Protection Commission once our business registration is complete, and add our registration number here.
This website
- This website has no forms, analytics or tracking. We don't use cookies for tracking or analytics. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site.
- Our web host, Cloudflare, handles technical information such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
- If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and we don't keep them longer than we need to.
The EasyFind app (coming soon)
When the app launches, we will collect only what we need:
- If you book a bed: your phone number (you sign in with an OTP sent by SMS), your name, your gender (so we can match you to a male or female room, or a single room), the time you confirmed you are 18 or older, your bookings and payments, and an email address only if you choose to give one for your receipt.
- If you book for someone else: their name and gender only.
- If you manage a hostel: your name and phone number, your hostel's details, documents showing you have the right to list the hostel, and your bank payout details (checked through Paystack).
- We never ask for, copy or store Ghana Card images, and we never ask for selfies.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account safe.
- To show available beds, assign you a bed and take payment.
- To send SMS about your account, your bookings or your hostel listing. We don't send marketing SMS.
- To check hostels before they can take bookings, and to prevent fraud.
- To handle cancellations, refunds and problem reports.
- To meet our legal duties.
We don't sell your information.
Who we share it with
We use trusted services to run EasyFind:
- Paystack, for payments. We never see your full card number or your Mobile Money PIN.
- mNotify and Arkesel, to send SMS.
- Supabase, to store app data.
- Cloudflare, to host and protect our website and app.
- Sentry, to report app errors, with personal details removed.
A hostel manager sees only what they need for a booking at their hostel: the occupant's name, the payer's phone number, the room and the booking details.
Some of these services store data outside Ghana, for example in Europe.
How long we keep it
- Account details: kept while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days after you close your account, except booking and payment records we must keep by law.
- Booking and payment records: as long as the law requires for financial records.
- Hostel documents: deleted 12 months after a hostel leaves EasyFind, or 90 days after an application is rejected. We keep a short record of what was checked, by whom and when.
- Sign-in OTPs expire after 5 minutes, and we don't keep them in our message records.
Your rights
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you can ask us:
- what personal information we hold about you;
- to correct it;
- to delete it, where the law allows;
- to stop using it for a particular purpose.
Email hello@easyfindgh.com. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.org.gh).
Keeping it safe
Your information is stored in protected systems, and only people who need it can see it. Hostel documents are kept in private storage that only EasyFind admins can open.
